The Mobilgard 12 series of diesel engine oils is intended for use as cylinder and bearing lubricants in marine and industrial diesel engines operating on distillate fuels. Mobilgard 12 series oils pass the Mirrlees Corrosion Test and the Multi-Metal Corrosion Test. The Oils meet the requirements of the API CD rating,
Application
Mobilgard 12 series oils are recommended for crank-case and cylinder lubrication of modern trunk piston engines used for coasters, inland vessels and tugs, as auxiliary engines in deep sea vessels, or as main engines in contracting equipment and for electric generating units.
They are intended for engines for which an oil meeting API service CD is recommended. They are also recommended for the separate bearing lubrication and piston cooling of large cross-head engines. Mobilgard 12 series oils perform very well in trunk engines when distillate fuels of up to 1.5 percent sulfur are used.
